Snods Edge 28th Annual Art Exhibition

SNODS ART EXHIBITION The 28th Annual Art Exhibition will be held over the August Bank Holiday weekend (27/28/29 August). This is an opportunity to view and perhaps purchase the work of over 30 local amateur and professional artists. Over 400 original paintings will be on view and there will be something to suit all tastes and pockets. The works cover a wide range of subjects, media and styles and prices in the past have ranged from £5 to £750. Last year some 1200 visitors toured the exhibition and there were significant sales. For those who attend there is the opportunity to enter a raffle for a valuable original watercolour of a local landscape donated by one of our professional artists.  

Brancepeth Castle Fair

Website The Brancepeth Castle Craft Fairs are held twice a year and are one of the leading local artisan events in the North East. There is a huge range of crafts displayed by over a hundred exhibitors from jewelry and glassware to pottery and cheeses. The high quality of the fair is maintained through emphasis on diversity and craftsmanship of wares.   The next Craft Fair will be:

Sunday 12 noon – 5pm

Entry price: Adults £2.50, OAP £1.50, Children free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets purchased after 4pm are valid for the next day.   Free parking.

Susan Warlock Artist in the Community Gallery and Studio

Susan has a range of our work both sculpture and hanging art work as well as a selection of our forged work. Established in April 2007 Artist in the Community is an arts project offering innovative, unique, creative exciting and fun arts interventions to schools, nurseries, children’s centres,  youth projects, community groups and special needs organisations across the North East of England. Its founder, Susan Warlock is an established North East based artist and professional storyteller with over thirty years experience working within community arts, youth work, and special needs and marginalised group settings.

Crushed Chilli Gallery in Durham City

Has some of our work, get your self there. A lovely gallery and a working  glass studio in the centre of Durham City. The Gallery has a wide selection of hand made glass by studio artists Janet Rogers and a fine range of contemporary art from paintings, sculpture, furniture, glass and ceramics, photography, jewellery and textiles.

Durham Open Art Competition 2012

Ironthreads has been selected to exhibit at the County Durham Open Art Exhibition, Spring 2012. This is the council’s fourth annual open art exhibition.
The exhibition of selected artwork from the competition will be held in Durham Cathedral from 3 May – 21 May. Our entries are Summer Oak Leaves Metal Swirls aka Salute to The Sun
